Call for papers: The Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies is soliciting paper submissions for a conference
The Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies is soliciting paper submissions for a conference and a possible edited volume analyzing individually the ten new member states’ experience in the EU and the domestic consequences of EU accession. The conference will debate whether a process of Europeanization has occurred in the new member states, and how these member states have worked within the EU institutions. Papers should evince a deep knowledge of the domestic politics and economics of the new member states pre- and post-accession in order to analyze the extent of Europeanization.
A two-day conference to present these papers will be held in Washington, DC in April, 2007. Paper givers will receive a travel stipend and three nights accommodations in Washington.
To submit a paper proposal, please email a 500-word abstract, a tentative paper outline and a c.v. to dheisenberg@jhu.edu by September 1, 2006.
